Updated version of HP Connection Manager for Windows 7/Vista/XP is released. HP Connection Manager 4.1.10.1 is the updated version of the HP Connection Manager. It allows you to manage mobile broadband and GPS devices, as well as to control power management and connectivity with various mobile broadband carriers. Remember that a WWAN-capable notebook with a WWAN card is a must for this software to work.
HP Connection Manager 4.1.10.1 includes the same general features as HP Connection Manager 3.0, 2.0, but is provided by a different vendor than version 2.0. and has a different interface.

If you are using an older model of HP notebook and if above said HP Connection Manager software is not working, then you can try the older version 3.0 from this link or older version 2.0 fromthis link. Always ensure that you install HP Multi‐WWAN Driver before you install HP Connection Manager 2.0. HP Connection Manager 2.0 will work only with Windows XP and Vista.

Remember that you need WWAN module device driver and HP Connection Manager for the WWAN to work properly on your Notebook. Also note that NOT all network operators will work with your WWAN device.

Hi, I am using an EliteBook 8560p with Win 7 Pro. The laptop has a SIM slot. I insert the SIM card, but Connection manager (version 4.1.22.1) cannot see it. If I click on Connection Manager’s help, in the Diagnostics / details tab, there is nothing under the mobile broadband information line. Do you have any suggestions?

SOme laptops have SIM slot it does not always means that you have WWAN module (the hardware) installed.
I would recommend you to check with HP tech support and confirm whether the hardware is present or not. Then you can proceed further.
